Will my desires be fulfilled?

We all have desires in our life, regarding ourselves or our children or any situation in our lives. And we all want our desires to be fulfilled. Let us meditate on what the Bible says on whose desires will be fulfilled.

Proverbs 10:24 says that the desire of the righteous will be granted. We need to remove every unholy attitude which hinders us from God’s intervention. Allow the word of God and the nudging of the Holy Spirit to recognize any unholy thought or deed. Ask God’s forgiveness. Rebuke any such unwanted thoughts which come your way. Then, your desires will be granted.

I read Psalm 112 today, which talks about the works of a good man (vs. 5-9). According to the Psalm, a good man:

  • Deals graciously and lends
  • Guides his affairs with discretion
  • Disperses abroad
  • Gives to the poor

Such a person will not be afraid until he sees his desire upon his enemies (vs. 8). But the desire of the wicked shall perish (vs. 10).

Also, a person who delights himself in the Lord shall have his desires granted (Psalms 37:4). We all have a waiting period before receiving something precious. Let’s not grumble or lose our trust in God during this time. But, wait patiently with a praise-filled rejoicing heart. Then, God will give us the desires of  our heart.

So, fulfillment of our desires requires a lifestyle change. With such a lifestyle we can be sure the God will fulfill our hearts desire.
