Praise God

Praise God! It has been three months since I received my little bundle of joy.

God has been with me throughout this pregnancy (my second) and He has made it a very joyful experience. When I heard his heartbeat in the NST in the last week, I was thrilled thinking on Gods protection which kept it beating. Every little baby movement kept me smiling throughout my pregnancy. Things would not have been easier without Gods hand. I was able to be active throughout the pregnancy in spite of the doctors giving so much of restriction because of a post-pregnancy complication in my first pregnancy. Every test result came out normal. I was able to drive almost till the end. Praise God for taking away every fear and filling me with His joy.

We have named him Evan (Welsh name for John) according to the following promise:

And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:14-17)

40th week of pregnancy

couple-babyAs I enter the 40th week of pregnancy, God has filled me with His joy and peace. Though doctors continue to say that it is impossible to have a normal delivery, I am still trusting God for a miracle. He has promised me, “Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; ..” (Isaiah 54:4). Further in the same chapter, we read:

16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith

Who blows the coals in the fire,

Who brings forth an instrument for his work;

And I have created the spoiler to destroy.

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn.

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And their righteousness is from Me,”

Says the Lord.

Here is a song which I wrote some time back:

I have set the Lord always before me

He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved

In difficult times, hide me in your presence

‘Cause only in your presence is fullness of joy.

I have put my trust in you alone.

Lord through your mercy, I shall not be moved.

In trouble times, hide me in your presence.

By waiting in your presence, you strengthen my heart.

So, I’m rejoicing these days as I look forward to God working in my life. Though every person around me have started trying to comfort me to accept whatever comes my way(they meant a c-section), I am continuing to trust in God with all the precious promises He has given me that He WILL give me a NORMAL delivery. He has taken every curse and shame of mine on Himself on the cross. So, I need not bear them now.

I’m sure I will soon post a testimony declaring how good God has been to me.

Will my desires be fulfilled?

We all have desires in our life, regarding ourselves or our children or any situation in our lives. And we all want our desires to be fulfilled. Let us meditate on what the Bible says on whose desires will be fulfilled.

Proverbs 10:24 says that the desire of the righteous will be granted. We need to remove every unholy attitude which hinders us from God’s intervention. Allow the word of God and the nudging of the Holy Spirit to recognize any unholy thought or deed. Ask God’s forgiveness. Rebuke any such unwanted thoughts which come your way. Then, your desires will be granted.

I read Psalm 112 today, which talks about the works of a good man (vs. 5-9). According to the Psalm, a good man:

  • Deals graciously and lends
  • Guides his affairs with discretion
  • Disperses abroad
  • Gives to the poor

Such a person will not be afraid until he sees his desire upon his enemies (vs. 8). But the desire of the wicked shall perish (vs. 10).

Also, a person who delights himself in the Lord shall have his desires granted (Psalms 37:4). We all have a waiting period before receiving something precious. Let’s not grumble or lose our trust in God during this time. But, wait patiently with a praise-filled rejoicing heart. Then, God will give us the desires of  our heart.

So, fulfillment of our desires requires a lifestyle change. With such a lifestyle we can be sure the God will fulfill our hearts desire.

Count your blessings

Having reached the 38th week of pregnancy, I thought this is a good time to reflect back and thank God for being good and faithful throughout the pregnancy period. I thank God for all the following blessings in my pregnancy:

  • Blessing us with another child
  • God has a special purpose for the child
  • Promises which will be fulfilled in pregnancy and in the life of the children
  • Setting all circumstances to welcome the child:
    • First travel air ticket
    • Blessing in husband’s Work (Promotion)
    • Salary Hike
    • Blessing in daughter’s School (First in Class)
    • Daughter matured enough to adjust with the sibling
    • She is expecting the child with love
  • No need of anti-coagulant till last month
  • Normal healthy pregnancy (no vomiting, morning sickness, cramps or breathlessness)
  • Strengthened me to do normal everyday work
  • Healing me in just 1 day when I had fever and severe body pain (Other than that no other sickness throughout pregnancy)
  • Enabling me to drive till last month
  • Taking away my fear and increasing my faith through His word every time I faced a challenge
  • Sending the right people at the right time
  • Guiding us according to His perfect will with no confusion
  • Joy and peace throughout the pregnancy period
  • Keeping us safe from every scheme of the devil
  • Praise God for He will fulfill my desire of having a normal delivery
  • Praise God for He will keep both mother and baby safe during and after delivery
  • Praise God for He will grant favor with the doctors and paramedical staff during and after delivery

As the traditional hymn goes,

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God has done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

let us thank God for whatever He has allowed in our life. All things work together for the good to those who love God to those who are called according to His purpose(Romans 8:28).

Promises for our second baby

Here are few verses I received as promises from the Bible during pregnancy:IMG_1176

  • If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15:7)
  • He(Abraham) did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. (Romans 4:20,21)
  • I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
    That I would see the goodness of the Lord
    In the land of the living.

    Wait on the Lord;
    Be of good courage,
    And He shall strengthen your heart;
    Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalms 27:13,14)

  • The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1: 35-37) -Words spoken by the Angel to Mary
  • You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. (Exodus 23:24-26)
  • If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you. (Exodus 15:26)
  • For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
    For as I have sworn
    That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
    So have I sworn
    That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. (Isaiah 54:9)
  • Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. (Genesis 18:14)
  • Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
  • Do not fear;
    Zion, let not your hands be weak.
    The Lord your God in your midst,
    The Mighty One, will save;
    He will rejoice over you with gladness,
    He will quiet you with His love,
    He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:16,17)
  • Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalms 46:10)
  • Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
    But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. (Psalms 20:7)
  • Delight yourself also in the Lord,
    And He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:4)
  •  The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. (Exodus 14:14)
  • The fear of the wicked will come upon him,
    And the desire of the righteous will be granted. (Proverbs 10:24)

Your desires will be fulfilled

“Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalms 37:4

This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. When I read that the Aspirin medication I was taking throughout pregnancy may inhibit labor, this thought occupied my mind. But, God reminded me once again through this verse that my desire to have a normal delivery will be fulfilled. All I have to do is trust in God with a rejoicing spirit. No matter what the circumstances may be, God knows my deepest desire and He is powerful enough to fulfill it.

The same evening, I received another promise verse from a friend:

“The fear of the wicked will come upon him,

And the desire of the righteous will be granted.” – Proverbs 10:24

The desire of the righteous will be granted – When we read a promise, there is always a condition. The promise, here, is that our desires will be fulfilled. And the condition is that we need to be righteous. So, after removing all unholy attitudes, we can boldly claim this promise. This has been a challenge throughout my pregnancy. But, God has helped me overcome every such attitude during this pregnancy period.

Praise God! He revives our faith through His word every time our faith is tested.

God is on my side

Right from the beginning of my third pregnancy, God is reminding me not to fear. (My heart was filled with fear when I lost my child in the second pregnancy). He is increasing my faith these days even as I draw near to the last few days of this healthy pregnancy.

The message in our church last week was all about how the enemy cannot overcome us because God is with us:

When the Israelites left Egypt, Pharaoh and his army followed them with six hundred choice chariots and many horsemen. God protected His people by coming between the camp of Israel and that of Pharaoh. He troubled the army of the Egyptians by taking off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.” (Exodus 14)

 Such is our defense when we have the true living God on our side. People who do not believe in God will confess with their own mouths that He is God.

This is what I am expecting God to do in my life as I’m expecting a normal delivery without any interventions while my doctor or the hospital are not favorable. I believe that neither the doctor nor the hospital facilities (like the horses or the chariots) can save me. But, God alone who is with me can save me. And God can make even the doctors testify that this was God fighting for me.

Here’s a song I wrote in 2013:

Be with me, Lord, hold my hand

Without you I cannot stand;

Only you can satisfy,

And answer me when all else fail.

Teach you way, unite my heart

Without you I’ll fall apart;

Even those who hate me will testify

That the Lord my God is on my side.

Some trust in chariots! Not me!

pregnancy-the-chance-to-work-with-god-in-a-miracleAs we approach closer to the time we get our baby, we had a thought of changing the doctor and hospital where we were consulting so far (due to various reasons). But God always has His own way of working things out for us. He insisted us to ‘Be still, and know that He is God;’ (Psalms 46:10). In our last visit to the doctor though everything is normal, my doctor wants me to have anticoagulants in the last few weeks of pregnancy which was a painful experience for me earlier. She also does not want me to wait for a normal delivery, which is my deepest desire.

According to the verse,

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God. – Psalms 20:7

I have put my trust in God who alone can save, not the hospital or the doctor. So, I cast my fears on Him and move forward in faith. When I lost my pregnancy almost three years back, this was what God taught me – to put my trust in Him.

This is something I do when I have some fear attacking me and this has truly helped me a lot to put my faith fully in Him. I spell out my fear before the name JESUS (‘<Name of the fear> is nothing before JESUS’ e.g. ABORTION is nothing before JESUS’). I keep repeating this as often as I encounter this fear. I know there is power in the name of Jesus and nothing can stand before His name.

Highly Favored One

This is my last month of pregnancy. I’ve been filled with tears since yesterday as doctor’s words have not been reassuring and people just don’t seem to take care. In such a state, God really wants me to withdraw myself from everything around me and focus only on Him (not even depend on my husband).

Before pregnancy, the promise I received for the child was “For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37) from the announcement of Jesus’ birth to Mary. Today I feel that though doctors say mine is a high risk pregnancy, it really isn’t. It is a highly favored one.

Me? Highly favored? Yes.

3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, (Psalms 8:3-6)

Though there are so many things to be taken care of, God in his mercy has chosen me for a special purpose. So, I am a highly favored one.

As a highly favored daughter of the Most High God, I have all authority over the enemy who brings fear, anxiety or disappointments.

16 …“Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. 17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:16, 17)

I listened to the song ‘God favored me’ by Hezekiah Walker this morning. It encouraged me. Do listen to the song in this link –
